Mary Sue: Sun/Bowl

Experimental rapper Mary Sue’s hyper-productive streak continues with “SUN/BOWL”, a double single featuring assured flows over soulful sample work from producers Kawhiatus and Swordbearer. He’s not yet gone full-length mode (that’s coming next month February 4th), but evidently, he’s ready for the new year. On the single, Sue packs his introspective bars about the passing of time in his signature baritone: “2021, 22 revolutions round the sun / Yea, the ending really tied to places we begun,” he raps - you really can feel the full circle coming along with every faded measure and beat. The double single was released through the independent experimental hip-hop label HIGHER SELF, which the rapper’s been associated with closely as of late - the collective also represents artists such as TRISTANTHEEND, Lynx Cane, and 0neelam.
