BELIEVE IT!

Championing the most exciting music out of Singapore, Southeast Asia and beyond, Big Duck is a Singapore-based gig promoter and editorial webzine with a focus on and passion for the independent scenes. With a strong emphasis on genre diversity and platforming underrepresented artists working on the scene’s frontiers, the collective have delivered thrillingly genuine live experiences since 2019, ranging from intimate underground showcases, to large-scale collaborations with the Esplanade’s Baybeats Festival, to recently hosting Malaysian punk firebrands No Good. Above all, the collective hopes to build and turn attendees to faithful audiences: to music here, we say Believe It! 👊

To celebrate our passion for music

Big Duck covers the most exciting music out of Singapore, Southeast Asia and beyond, with a focus on and passion for the independent scenes. On our site, we review new tracks every week, and present artists’ stories on our interviews. We also occasionally publish features, opinions and hot takes from contributing writers. We are also a passionate collective of music fans and gig organisers, proud to celebrate all things good about music and the live experience.

We’ve always strived to bring an eclectic mix of both well-loved scene veterans and fresh up-and-comers with potential at our shows; delivering high energy and exciting gigs, where every event is an unforgettable experience for our audiences (and artists as well!). We want Big Duck to be a space for everyone to feel comfortable in expressing themselves in any way - through dress, dance or however else they may wish! On our site and shows, we aim to create an inclusive platform for smaller, aspiring artists - whose sounds don't necessarily exist within the confines of pop context and conventional performance. We want to build a space where we can celebrate our independent scenes with the same level of respect and dedication as any other scene, without any discrimination or dishonesty.
